With Heartfelt Thanks - The Cuttlebug Spot

Hi everyone!!! Here's my piece for Cuttlebug Spot's November 16th Challenge. : ) It is a very simple THANK YOU card. I thought if I was going to be giving this away to family friends who have joined us for thanksgiving, I had better make something that is easy to mass produce. So I came up with this card... It's easy, clean and simple. I cut the oval layers with my Cricut using the Sure Cuts A Lot software and I used Basic Grey's Pyrus Stamp Set and heat embossed it.

To the One I Love - Explosion Box

Hi everyone! This is my contribution for the blog hop The Cuttlebug Spot is a part of. : ) Jannie's (member of the TCS DT) project,  inspired me to make an explosion box for the hop. Thanks for the idea Jannie!!! I have always wanted to make an explosion box but I didn't know what to put in it. I was digging through some boxes in my closet today and found these pictures of me and John. They are just pictures from some of our trips.  I just did one layer for this project and did some journaling behind the pictures.

I am not a lover of the purples or the lavenders, but I bought the DCWV Latte Collection for its patterns! I love stripes and florals. The whole collection is nothing but that!!! I used a Basic Grey stamp set for the sentiment on top of the box and I used Inkadinkado's Chelsea Alphabet to emboss I LOVE YOU inside.

The flower is handmade. I made a huge batch of these flowers in the summer while my craft room was being worked on to keep me from getting too stressed out. I went to Archiver's one day and bought all kinds of glimmer mists and slaved myself into working on these flowers.

Thanksgiving Place Cards - The Cuttlebug Spot

Hi everyone! Hope everybody's having a nice Tuesday. This week's challenge revolves around everything that appears on the Thanksgiving Table... I am very very sure that the rest of the TCS Design Team has created a bunch of beautiful things!!! So here is my take of this week's challenge-- I made place cards!

I used the Once Upon a Princess Cricut Cartridge to cut the marquee. The names are hand written. 

I used Glossy Accents to give the leaves some shine and nice glassy effect.  (I am a Glossy Accents and Crackle Paint Addict! LOL)

I applied Ranger's Star Dust Stickles to accent the opening of the cornucopia. I have a few fall stamp sets but the Lawn Fawn set is my favorite because of the cornucopia.

Let's Eat! (a lot) - The Cuttlebug Spot

Hi all! Hope all of you are having a wonderful Tuesday! : ) Here's my post for The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are supposed to make Thanksgiving Dinner Invites. I was going to make a more formal invite but I realized most of our family gatherings are very casual so I decided to make a rather colorful, a bit humorous one... If there are two things that this family is good at, it's cooking and eating. We all love to gather around the table and eat some good food. Back in the Philippines, we are a family of cooks... My mom is a culinary instructor, my dad is the family cook and four years ago I married into a family of wonderful cooks too! I always look forward to the holidays because the food we serve on our table is always superb. So whoever gets invited to these gatherings better be rolling up their sleeves when they eat with us because even if we serve four to five course meals, we eat them like we mean it! : )

Welcome Fall - The Cuttlebug Spot

Hi all! As I was taking photos of my project I realized this one's for the 25th of October! I couldn't believe how fast this month has flown by!!!

This week, we are supposed to make something around the theme, WELCOME FALL. Last week, as I was battling those terrible sinus headaches and allergies, I got a package in the mail from Lawn Fawn. I had forgotten that (the week before that) I had ordered their Harvest Season stamp set! But I was too sick to even mess with it! So as I was checking my calendar for stuff I needed to do this week, I found that I could actually use the new stamp set that I got to make this week's project! : )

The supply list is right below the photo. Since I have been so careless, I cannot remember the name of the embossing folder I used. It's the one with the big dots and bubbles (it seems like). And the Bo Bunny paper I used is one that I have had in my stash for the longest time. I just know it's Bo Bunny because i labeled it Bo Bunny but didn't write which collection it is from. All I know is that the other side of it, is SPORTS! I guess that's why I have never used it, but I never did look at the other side of it until I started looking for papers to use on this project.

Halloween Card - The Cuttlebug Spot

Hi all! Here's my post for the Cuttlebug Spot. I have been battling sinus headaches on and off all week... Today is the very first day that I have actually felt like my old self. :) 

This is an A2 card. I used kraft cardstock for the card base. I used the skeleton scroll embossing folder and embossed a 5.25 in by 4 in vintage cream cardstock from Paper Trey Ink. I used distress inks to create this halloween-ish effect for the background. I cut the tree from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. The moon is from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge out of a bright yellow cardstock, I used the same distress inks to give it some color.

Halloween Treat Holder

I have to admit, if there was one, I would have to say I am the Halloween Scrooge. This is mainly because where I grew up, Halloween isn't considered a Christmas-like holiday... It is observed rather solemnly as opposed to the very festive, fun holiday it is here in the US. I have been here four years and not one Halloween in all of my four years here have I participated in trick or treat. Not that I hate Halloween, it's the fact that I couldn't get into it as I do the other holidays.However, this year I have vowed that I will be giving away treats to my friends' kids because they are soooooooo cute and I will be giving away treat bags to my husband's students both in the grade school and high school also. 

Anyway, for Cuttlebugspot this week, I made these two treat holders:

This first one is made out of almond cans. My husband and I love almonds and I buy them a lot in these cans. I have been saving the cans and decorate them just like I did this treat holder to make into pen/pencil holders, i store odds and ends of ribbons in them too. But as of right now, there's a dozen of these Halloween decorated cans all over my house with a handful of treats in them and my husband is loving it! : )

For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the paper collection that I used in this project. It has been in my stash for a while and I can't remember where all these things came from or where I got them. I used Divine Swirls to emboss the orange cardstock behind the jack-o-lantern. And I heat embossed the sentiments in both tags I used. 

While I was finishing up my halloween can, I found a brand new, unopened thing of brown lunch bags in my pantry. And since I had some left over paper, I went ahead and made a treat holder out of it too. I am thinking it will be great to just hand these out on trick or treat night to my much favored kids! : )

I used the Skeleton Scroll embossing folder to emboss an antiqued piece of paper. Then I dabbed some black ink to make the skulls show up a bit more. The papers I used on this came from that same unidentified stack I had... For all we know, they probably don't all belong to the same collection. LOL I added googley eyes to my spider there and a yellow bow on her head. : ) I heat embossed the word BOO on black cardstock.

My First Project for the Cuttlebugspot -- Fight Like A Girl

I have had the hardest time trying to figure out what to make for my first project for Cuttlebugspot... One, because my very young Aunt beat her battle with breast cancer about a year ago. Second, I have had so many things go through my mind when I saw this week's theme it was difficult to condense all of them into one A2 card. As a matter of fact, I have made 5 cards using every technique I know. Until I found the image that I used on my card. Today's winner at the CuttlebugSpot will win a gift card from Custom Crops!

I know that we were only supposed to to make one project for the challenge but I didn't want to waste the second image I accidentally printed out. The sentiment and the image are digitally printed.

Both cards are standard size (5.5 in by 4.25 in). Both kraft and dark chocolate cardstocks (I used for card base) are from Paper Trey Ink. I used Bird Call Cuttlebug Folder to emboss the green paper I used to mat the image on the first card. I embossed it sideways so only the grass blades would show, to give it some dimension. Then I used some dimensional adhesive to mount the image on to the card. 

I used Stylized Flowers Cuttlebug Folder and embossed the whole front of the second card with it. I used some pink Core'dinations cardstock to frame the window and used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the corners on both cards. I also used my white gel pen to make faux stitching lines.
